The "I believe in pink" tunic is DONE! Well I'm contemplating a ribbon and a bow, but its wearable and thus done. :)
I worked on my embroidered quilt. And found the missing blocks. Unfortunately, among the missing was an uncompleted block so now I have three more after the one I'm currently working on instead of the two that I thought were remaining. I think instead of following the package instructions of a border that I'm going to sash out the blocks and put a border on to make it the right size.
Worked on boning the keeper of the keys waist cincher. This was my project at the Archon Build Day.
And started pinning the "eat drink and be scary" tunic
I also worked on my "Wilde Side" leggings and they are almost done. All they need is the waistband and the cuffs. And maybe taken in just a little more...I'm not sure.
What I'd like to do this week:
1. Work on my embroidered quilt.
2. Finish the "Wilde Side" leggings
That's probably all I can manage, because I have (Mid) Ohio Comic Con this weekend.

Archon Build Day Tomorrow!
We have our first build day in a while tomorrow, here's what I'm planning to take:
- The "I believe in pink" tunic is almost done. Unless I finish it tonight or tomorrow before I go, I'll take it with me to put in the zipper and stitch the lining in place.
- My embroidered quilt (which I have worked on this week)
- And (if I can get it ready for boning) my keeper of the keys waist cincher so I can bone it. If I can find a new zipper, I'll take the skirt too so I can replace the zipper.
- My "eat drink and be scary" tunic for pinning
- "I believe in pink" tunic
- "Wilde Side" leggings
- and work in the cincher, the embroidered quilt and the keeper of the keys cincher and skirt

Weekend progress - September 15 2012
So far this weekend, I've...
Went to the fabric store and bought: a zipper and lining (remnant of black broadcloth) for the "Eat drink and be scary" tunic; a zipper and thread for the "I believe in pink" tunic; a fat quarter that was white w red stars on it and a remnant of blue and white cotton for the patriotic quilt I'm planning; elastic for my "Wilde Side" leggings
Then I:
- Cut out the "Wilde Side" leggings and pinned the first seam. I'm contemplating using wider elastic than the pattern calls for so they sit higher...
- Worked on my "I believe in pink" tunic a little and did a first fitting. I think the back neckline is going to have an interesting shape...
- Worked on the embroidered baby quilt
- Sorted through fabric and started cutting out four and a half inch squares for the charm quilt. They're in a plastic ziploc bag.
- Also separated out fabrics for a patriotic quilt and got my Ohio Star pieces in a plastic bag.

The Quilting Bug, It Has Bitten Me
Seriously, it has.
I'm going to start two ziploc bags for my quilting fabric pieces. One for the Ohio Star quilt I've already started cutting out pieces for. And one for pieces for a charm quilt.
I really really really wanna make a charm quilt. And I'd say to tell me I'm insane and to stop me but you know that won't do any good. lol I can also hear some faint queries of "What is a charm quilt?" Basically a quilt made up of a TON of pieces, all in the same shape (squares, triangles, etc), and without any repeating. This website has a cool little brief history. Originally, women swapped squares with friends so if anyone wants to join me on this adventure, let me know and we'll start swapping!
I'm thinking maybe 4 inch squares for my charm quilt. Lots and lots of little four inch squares...Like probably around 1,000.
A thousand different fabrics.
Long term goals, I have them.

Tour Wear Post the First
As I'm sure most of you know, I have a slight shall we say obsession for the All American Rejects. This fall I will be attending two shows (sadly, because I wish it were more) and I've decided to basically sew myself a new wardrobe of 'tour wear' for these two shows of leggings and tunics. Current outfit plans: Outfit #1 - cream leggings and a Halloween print tunic (nicknamed the "Eat, drink and be scary" tunic). Outfit #2 - grey leopard print leggings and the "I believe in pink" tunic.
Outfit #1 Details:
Last night, I completed my first item of this Tour Wear wardrobe -- a pair of cream leggings that my friend Pepper said came out 'banging'. The pattern itself was super easy (they're kinda like pajama pants in construction) but they took a lot of tailoring to fit properly. It was sew this seam, try it on, take it in, try it on, take it in a little more at the ankle, then at the knee...you get the picture. But they came out pretty perfect and super comfy - I ended up leaving them on after the last fitting!
Outfit #1 Details:
Pattern for my "Eat, drink and be scary" tunic, McCalls 6396
"Eat drink and be scary" tunic fabric and cream leggings fabric
The "Eat drink and be scary" tunic has been cut out but not started.
Outfit #2 Details:
I'll be using the same leggings pattern as before, McCalls 6173, in a grey leopard print sweater knit. Since I took in the cream pair so much, I may cut a smaller size to start with...On the other hand, the stretch is likely very different so it might be better to stick with the same size... We'll see. The fabric is purchased but I haven't prewashed it yet.
And the "I believe in pink" tunic has been started! I used the bodice from my skull print sundress pattern, McCalls 5094 view E or F, and I'm planning to attach a square shaped skirt.

September 10 2012 To Do List
- Nursing cover is DONE!
- Miss Joker suit and blouse - Almost there! I need to sew a closure onto the elastic on the blouse, and make the shoe clips. The skirt is hemmed and the tie is ready!
- Tour Wear leggings - This is my next project. I need to get the cream leggings made to see if the pattern is going to work before touching the other fabrics I bought for leggings. Although they're Tour Wear I don't think the cream leggings are going to get a name...
- Tour Wear 'I believe in pink' tunic is also ready for construction. I decided to rename this, "I believe in pink" is an Audrey Hepburn quote.
- Tour Wear "Eat, drink and be scary" Halloween tunic is ready for construction.
- My embroidered quilt
- The embroidered quilt for my nephew - This is as done as I can get it until I buy some grey, brown and black floss.
- Halloween skirt - Still need to finish the waistband.
- Christmas nightgown is ready for construction.
- Keeper of the Keys waist cincher
- Quilt blocks are still waiting for me to start my Ohio Star blocks.

What Miss Wilde Did This Weekend
Okay, ladies and gents, while a lot of you were away at conventions, I was sitting around in my pajamas sewing and watching copious amounts of Doctor Who at my parents house. :)
I also went shopping and picked up - black spangled knit fabric to make Pepper some leggings, snow leopard print knit fabric to make myself a pair of leggings, an awesome Halloween print that's going to be a tunic, two patterns (for the leggings and a tunic pattern), notions for the nursing cover (boning, D rings), burgundy broadcloth for my Chirstmas nightgown, and some embroidery floss for my quilt.
- My embroidered quilt - Finished another block. I think I have three more to go.
- The embroidered quilt for my nephew - Worked on this. I'm going to need to pick up a few colors of floss, because most of what I have is pink, green, blue, yellow and purple. I could use some browns and some black.
- Miss Joker suit and blouse - This is swiftly approaching done-ness. The skirt just needs hemmed and the blouse needs hemmed with elastic to keep it in place. I also bought shoes, just cute black wedges that I'm going to make gaudy shoe clips for, probably in orange. And the tie needs a little work as well.
- Keeper of the Keys waist cincher - Drew on the stitching lines for the boning
- Quilting supplies - I cut a bunch of 4 1/2 and 5 1/4 inch squares to start making Ohio Star blocks for a scrap quilt.
- Leggings fabric - I cut out the first pair of leggings, the cream ones from a remnant. And pinned the first seam.
- Christmas nightgown and some lace - I cut out the ruffle and the yoke from burgundy broadcloth and starting the pinning.
- Nursing cover - Started the pinning.
- Tour Wear 'pretty in pink' tunic - Bodice is pinned together for the first stage of sewing and the skirt is cut out. I decided to go with a square.
- Halloween skirt - I cut out and pinned together the tab that I need to finish the waistband, but didn't have any blue thread so I couldn't sew it.
